The German Chancellor Angela Markel came under severe criticism from Donald Trump for the open door migration policy that her country was following. The US President-Elect is of the opinion that it was a cataclysmic mistake on the part of the German Chancellor to allow about a million people to migrate to her country. He further added that the decision will only hasten the downfall of the European Union. Mr. Donald Trump further said that all the problems related to the refugees could have been avoided if they were not allowed to enter the German territory in the first place. It could have also prevented a situation like Brexit from taking place. It was the final straw that broke the camel’s back.Mr. Trump further added that it was his firm belief that the entire European Union has been converted into a vehicle by Germany for its own convenience. In the meantime, the outgoing director of CIA Mr. John Brennan, warned Mr. Trump to be careful about what he says, particularly when referring to Vladimir Putin.
Mr. Brennan made his comments while appearing for Fox News, a channel that Mr. Trump often watches. He further observed that Mr. Trump should carefully think before speaking spontaneously, in the best interests of national security. He also suggested to the President-elect to make sure he fully understood the full implications and impact his remarks may have on the United States.
He said: ‘The world is watching now what Trump says and listening very carefully. If he doesn’t have confidence in the intelligence community, what signal does that send to our partners and allies, as well as our adversaries? It’s more than just about Mr Trump.’
It was claimed that Mr Trump was planning a summit with Mr Putin for his first foreign trip as president.
However, Mr Trump’s spokesman Sean Spicer dismissed the claim as ‘100 per cent false’.
